Went to the doctor today for our check-in. It's crazy to think that it's been three months already, but at the same time it drug by. J has been scheduled to do his sperm analysis. The doctor thinks it's good that I seem to be responding to Clomid, even intermittently. His hope is that increasing the dose will do the trick. Me too! Because we increased the dosage, he's going to have me back in a month if I get my period and make sure that I'm doing okay with the increase. If I get KU then he'll see us in about 6 weeks. Let's hope for the latter, shall we?
We talked a little about the overall game plan. We chatted about monitored cycles, HSG, IUI's, hormone therapy, and IVF. Pretty much our plan is in that order. Depending on our luck this month he may bring me in next month. If we're still not lucky, then I'm looking at a HSG. Then probably round the 2year mark, we'll talk more seriously about insemination. That could be moved up depending on the results of J's SA. If that doesn't turn out well, we may bump that up earlier in the game plan.
So, that's where we stand. When my ladybits stop looking like what can only be compared to a WWII reenactment, we'll get this road on the show. Here's to the start of a new month.
Good luck with your game plan! It sounds like a good one. :)
ReplyDeleteI would definately go ahead with the HSG next month. If the clomid triggers ovulation but your tubes are blocked, you are putting yourself through the medication for no reason. My Dr. actually would not perscribe clomid until I had the HSG for this reason.
ReplyDeleteWe also did the SA before the Clomid for the same reasons. If there is an issue with the sperm, there was no reason for me to go forward with the Clomid.
It was our FOURTH cycle of CLomid (and second on the maximum dose), 2nd month on Metformin, and 1st month using PreConvieve Lube when we got our BFP.
Good luck honey.
Thank you, ladies!
ReplyDeleteWe actually just found out yesterday that the instruction sheet the lab gave us for J's SA was not right. They said they were only open M-F until 2pm! J would have had to take a day off to do it. So, right or wrong we put it off. When J told our Doc he called and set them straight. He'll not be doing that this month.
We now have new insurance, so I am working to find out if the HSG will be covered, even partially before we jump on that too.
If it wasn't for the two of you I would have no idea what questions to ask and the types of things to expect at these appointments. I hope you know how much I appreciate you!
I think I've even caught him off gaurd a couple of times because of what I already know and understand. lol :)
